AI Ethics and Governance About you About the Role Your Main Responsibilities Will Include: AI Ethics Policies and Standards: Lead the development and refinement of AI ethics policies and standards, ensuring they are aligned with global best practices and effectively implemented across all departments. Framework Design and Support: Design and support comprehensive frameworks that guide the ethical use of AI, providing clear guidelines for departments and agencies. AI Risk Management: Develop and advise on AI risk management standards, ensuring that potential risks associated with AI deployment are identified, mitigated, and managed effectively. Guidance and Advisory: Provide ongoing guidance and advisory support on AI-related issues, ensuring that all AI initiatives are compliant with ethical standards and legal requirements. Capability Development and Uplift: Identify capability and education needs across NSW public sector agencies that support safe, ethical and responsible AI use. Where gaps exist in available training or market offerings, work with relevant partners and providers to drive the development and availability of appropriate learning and capability solutions. Who we are
The NSW Government AI Office leads and
coordinates the safe, responsible, and effective use of AI across government.
It supports agencies to confidently adopt AI by providing guardrails, strategic
advice, and capability support.
The team:
Salary Grade 11/12, with the base salary for this role starting at base plus superannuation
