About the role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our team based in Mt Isa. While projects are located in Mt Isa and surrounding mining operations, we’re looking for candidates from across Queensland who are willing to travel. You’ll take ownership of structural, mechanical, and civil construction projects (typically up to $10M in value) across both surface and underground mining environments.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead the delivery of SMP and civil construction projects from start to finish
• Manage project scope, budgets, timelines, and reporting requirements
• Coordinate and supervise site-based teams and subcontractors
• Develop and maintain project schedules, resourcing plans, and progress reports
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders
• Prepare and present reports on project performance, risks, and opportunities
• Understanding of quality assurance requirements, including ITPs, inspections, hold points, and construction documentation
• Work closely with the MCA commercial team to support contract administration, procurement, cost tracking, progress claims, and variation management across assigned projects
• Assist with commercial reporting and forecasting, ensuring project financial performance, contractual obligations, and supporting documentation are managed in conjunction with the MCA commercial team

What we’re looking for:

• Trade qualification or equivalent practical background (Engineering degree not essential)
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a project management or supervisory role
• Proven track record delivering small to medium civil or mining projects
• Strong scheduling and reporting skills
• Ability to manage people, deadlines, and competing priorities under pressure
• Experience in underground mining environments highly regarded
• Unrestricted Driver’s licence and White Card required
