Retail Sales

Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Retail Sales Associate to join our team at the tool shop. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers in finding the right tools for their needs and contributing to the overall success of the store.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Assistance: Greet customers as they enter the store and assist them in finding the tools and equipment they need. Provide product knowledge and recommendations to customers based on their project requirements. Answer customer inquiries regarding product features, pricing, and availability. Offer guidance and advice on tool usage and maintenance.

2. Sales and Upselling: Actively engage with customers to understand their needs and suggest appropriate products. Utilize sales techniques to promote add-on items and upsell products to maximize sales opportunities. Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS (Point of Sale) system. Meet and exceed sales targets and goals set by the store management.

3. Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining adequate stock levels on the sales floor by restocking shelves and organizing merchandise. Monitor inventory levels and communicate inventory needs to the store manager. Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in reconciling discrepancies.

4. Customer Service Excellence: Handle customer complaints and concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary. Strive to create a positive shopping experience for every customer by offering friendly and attentive service. Build and maintain strong customer relationships to foster repeat business and customer loyalty.

Qualifications: Previous retail sales experience preferred, ideally in a hardware or tool shop environment. Strong knowledge of tools and equipment commonly used in construction, woodworking, automotive, or DIY projects. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment. Basic math skills and proficiency in using a POS system. Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

**Physical Requirements:** Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 20kgs) and stand for extended periods. Comfortable bending, stooping, and reaching to retrieve merchandise and assist customers.
