Hospitality Team Members – Front & Back of House

About the role

Old Butter Factory is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Hospitality Team Members to join our team across both front and back of house positions.

This is a casual role based in Bellingen NSW, with a mix of weekday, weekend and public holiday shifts available.

Depending on your experience, roles may include front of house, barista, kitchen hand, dishwasher or hospitality all-rounder duties.

What you'll be doing

Front of House:

• Greeting and welcoming customers

• Taking customer orders accurately and efficiently

• Serving food and beverages

• Providing table service and checking on customer needs

• Processing cash and card payments

• Clearing and resetting tables

• Keeping the café clean, organised and presentable

• Assisting the team during busy service periods

Barista:

• Preparing espresso coffee and other beverages to a consistent standard

• Texturing milk and producing quality coffee during busy service periods

• Keeping the coffee station clean, organised and stocked

• Working closely with front of house staff to keep service running efficiently

Back of House:

• Assisting with basic food preparation

• Following recipes and food safety procedures

• Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organisation

• Supporting the kitchen team during service

• Dishwashing and cleaning kitchen equipment

• Assisting with stock rotation and food storage

• Keeping work areas clean and safe

What we're looking for

• Previous hospitality experience is advantageous but not essential for general front of house or kitchen support roles

• We are happy to train the right person for suitable positions

• For barista applicants, previous commercial café barista experience is required

• Barista applicants must be confident with espresso coffee preparation, milk texturing and working efficiently during busy service periods

• Friendly and professional attitude

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to work well as part of a team

• Reliability and punctuality

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Willingness to help across different areas when required

• Flexibility to work weekday, weekend and public holiday shifts

• Food Safety Certification or willingness to obtain it is desirable

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
