Reshine Painting & Maintenance Group Pty Ltd Reshine Painting & Maintenance Group Pty Ltd is looking for a full-time painter to join our team. Benefits The remuneration is AU$75,000-85,000 per annum plus superannuation. Task & responsibilities

• Examining interior and exterior surfaces of residential, commercial and newly constructed properties to determine the preparation and finishing work required.
• Setting up and securing ladders, mobile scaffolds and access equipment to undertake painting work on elevated walls, ceilings, eaves and building façades.
• Protecting floors, windows, fittings, furniture and adjoining surfaces by installing drop sheets, masking materials and protective coverings before commencing work.
• Preparing new and previously coated surfaces by removing loose or deteriorated paint, scraping, sanding, cleaning and treating affected areas.
• Patching damaged substrates and correcting cracks, joints and surface irregularities to produce an even base for subsequent coatings.
• Applying primers, sealers and undercoats appropriate to plasterboard, timber, masonry, metal and other building substrates.
• Selecting and preparing paints, stains, varnishes and protective coatings according to the substrate, specified finish and interior or exterior application.
• Blending, tinting and adjusting coating products to meet specified colour, consistency and application requirements in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions.
• Applying decorative and protective coatings to walls, ceilings, doors, trims, timberwork and exterior building surfaces using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
• Cutting in around edges, corners, fixtures and architectural details to produce clean lines and consistent coverage.
• Applying successive coats within specified drying and recoating times and checking completed surfaces for colour consistency, coverage and finish quality.
• Rectifying runs, uneven coverage, surface imperfections and other defects by sanding, touching up or recoating affected areas.
• Cleaning brushes, rollers, spray equipment and other painting tools and maintaining work areas in a clean and serviceable condition.
• Removing masking materials, drop sheets and access equipment after completing the work and leaving painted areas clean and ready for inspection.

  Qualification & experience Qualifications

• Certificate III in Painting and Decorating, or an equivalent AQF trade qualification directly relevant to building painting and decorating.

Experience

• A minimum of one year of relevant experience performing painting and decorating work on residential, commercial, or newly constructed properties.

Skills

• Demonstrated ability to prepare, repair, smooth and seal a range of interior and exterior building surfaces.
• Proficiency in selecting, preparing and applying paints, stains, varnishes and protective coatings using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
• Ability to set up access equipment, protect surrounding areas and perform painting work safely in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Strong attention to detail when cutting in, applying successive coats, matching specified finishes and rectifying surface defects.
• Ability to organise assigned work, maintain painting tools and equipment, and complete projects independently or as part of a team.
