The Impact of the Role
This is a newly created transformation role for someone who enjoys challenging how things have traditionally been done, exploring what is possible and turning ideas into practical improvements.

Reporting to the Head of Granting, you will support an ambitious three-year transformation of FRRR's granting practice, helping create a more efficient, lighter-touch operating model that reduces administrative burden, improves consistency and user experience, and enables staff to spend more time on high-value work.

Rather than implementing a predetermined solution, you will help shape what the future model looks like. Working closely with the Head of Granting, you will explore opportunities, analyse current processes, coordinate pilots, test new approaches and use evidence and feedback to determine what should be implemented and scaled.

Technology will be an important part of this transformation. You will help FRRR explore where AI and automation can genuinely improve granting workflows and decision support, while thoughtfully considering ethics, security, accessibility, staff impacts and the needs of the communities FRRR serves.

Importantly, this transformation will happen alongside a busy, complex granting environment. You will need to balance longer-term transformation with the practical realities of maintaining business-as-usual granting across multiple programs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support the design and delivery of FRRR's granting transformation program, maintaining a clear workplan with milestones, priorities, dependencies and deliverables.
• Review granting processes, workflows, tools and templates to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency and user experience.
• Translate strategic transformation priorities into practical initiatives that can be developed, piloted, tested, evaluated and implemented.
• Coordinate pilots, testing and feedback, using evidence and insights to refine approaches and support broader implementation.
• Explore opportunities to appropriately introduce AI, automation and digital tools across granting workflows, analysis and decision support.
• Work with internal stakeholders and external system providers to test and implement fit-for-purpose technology solutions.
• Support the review of FRRR's granting systems and investigate opportunities for stronger integration, automation and communication between platforms.
• Prepare communications, guidance and implementation resources to support staff understanding and adoption of new processes and technology.
• Support staff capability and confidence in new digital tools, including AI-enabled solutions where appropriate.
• Coordinate internal working groups and support governance through papers, agendas, minutes, action tracking, risk management and reporting.
• Collect and analyse data, feedback and process insights to measure success, inform decisions and identify further improvement opportunities.
• Maintain strong relationships across granting, finance, partnerships, communications, program teams, the Board, advisory committee and external providers.
• Document lessons learned and support successful improvements to transition into business-as-usual granting practice.

About You
You’re a practical transformation and change professional who can think strategically while getting into the detail to make change happen. Curious about technology, AI and automation, you bring a human-centred approach, can navigate complexity and build trusted relationships to bring people along on the journey.

You will bring:

• Demonstrated experience delivering transformation, change, continuous improvement or complex projects.
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate ideas into practical plans, pilots and implementation.
• An understanding of AI, automation and emerging technology and how these can be applied appropriately to improve organisational processes.
• The ability to consider ethics, security, safeguards and the human impact of technology and AI.
• Experience reviewing workflows and identifying opportunities to simplify, automate or improve processes.
• Strong change management capability and the ability to support people through evolving ways of working.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills across operational teams, managers, executives and governance stakeholders.
• Strong project and program coordination skills, including planning, reporting, risk management and managing competing priorities.
• Experience collecting, interpreting and using data and feedback to inform decisions and measure impact.
• A collaborative and human-centred approach, with the ability to build trusted relationships across an organisation.
• Comfort working in an environment where priorities and solutions will continue to evolve as new approaches are tested and evaluated.

Experience within granting, philanthropy, community organisations or the not-for-profit sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
