Job Details

The Department of Defence is seeking an experienced Force Protection Electronic Counter Measures Trainer to support the Defence Force School of Signals and the Electromagnetic Warfare and Intelligence Systems – Land Systems Program Office.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development, maintenance, quality assurance and delivery of specialist FPECM training across the Operator, Supervisor and Manager learning pathways.

The role also provides FPECM subject-matter expertise supporting capability sustainment, interoperability, operational readiness and the continuous improvement of Defence training products.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver FPECM training in accordance with Commonwealth priorities and agreed training schedules.
• Deliver scheduled classroom training, practical activities and exercises.
• Deliver and support the following courses:
  • 207815 FPECM Operator
  • 212973 FPECM Supervisor
  • 207775 FPECM Manager
  • 208622 Training Improvised Explosive Device Operator Course
• Support refresher, continuation and operator-generation training.
• Deliver training at the Defence Force School of Signals and other Defence establishments throughout Australia.
• Maintain attendance records, training outcomes and other required course documentation.
• Prepare post-course reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain Learning Management Packages.
• Develop and maintain Learning Support Materials, training aids and instructional material.
• Conduct internal quality-assurance activities.
• Review and update course content following capability, technology, policy or training-requirement changes.
• Support learning evaluations and training-governance activities.
• Provide specialist advice concerning FPECM capability employment, interoperability and training.
• Respond to Requests for Information.
• Support capability-development and sustainment activities.
• Support Countermeasures Development and Validation activities.
• Participate in stakeholder forums, working groups, reviews and project activities.
• Advise on contemporary explosive-hazard threats, technological developments and emerging capability requirements.
• Support high-readiness activities, force preparation, collective training events and exercises.
• Configure, prepare and test training equipment.
• Undertake operator-level equipment maintenance.
• Support equipment movement, accountability and logistics associated with training delivery.
• Provide technical advice concerning training systems and associated support equipment.
• Contribute information for quarterly contract-status reporting, including training delivered, resource status, risks, issues and planned activities.

About the Program

The Electromagnetic Warfare and Intelligence Systems – Land Systems Program Office supports operational and conventional acquisition, sustainment and transition activities for the Australian Defence Force.

Its supported capabilities include FPECM, Explosive Ordnance Disposal robots, systems and facilities supporting counter-improvised explosive device training, Countermeasures Development and Validation, Deliberate Route Clearance and tactical electronic warfare mission systems.

FPECM is a critical component of Defence’s electronic-warfare capability. This engagement will support the availability of suitably trained personnel and contribute to capability sustainment, interoperability and operational readiness.
