Disability Support Worker - Personal Care and Mobility

Alya is looking for experienced and reliable Disability Support Workers to join a dedicated support team in Gympie, supporting a male participant living with cerebral palsy.

We are looking for Support Workers who are confident providing personal care and mobility assistance, while also encouraging independence, capacity building and meaningful community participation.

This role offers long, regular and ongoing shifts, making it a great opportunity for someone looking for consistency and the chance to build a genuine working relationship with the person they support.

Your support will include:

• Personal care and assistance with daily living
• Mobility and physical support
• Supporting independence around the home
• Capacity building and working towards individual goals
• Community access and social participation
• Assistance with household tasks and daily routines
• Transport and support to appointments and activities
• Encouraging choice, independence and confidence
• Following individual support plans and completing shift documentation

About you

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, patient and genuinely passionate about supporting people to live independently.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience in disability, aged care or community support
• Experience providing personal care
• Confidence supporting people with mobility needs
• A person-centred and respectful approach
• Strong communication skills
• The ability to build positive and professional relationships
• Availability to work long and ongoing shifts
• A current driver's licence and reliable vehicle
• NDIS Worker Screening clearance
