About Us 

Rosebank College has a proud and varied history of over 150 years as part of the Good Samaritan family established in 1857, and belonging to the Benedictine spiritual and educational tradition founded by St Benedict in the 4th century. The College belongs to the community of ten schools across Australia called Good Samaritan Education (GSE).  Established in 2011 by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan, the mission of Good Samaritan Education is to sustain and nurture our Catholic schools as Good Samaritan Benedictine communities of learning.

About the Role 

Rosebank College is seeking a practical, reliable and proactive Grounds and Maintenance Officer to join our Facilities Team on a permanent full-time basis from Term 1, 2027. This role is required to work Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:00 pm, during Term time only.

Working as part of the Facilities Team, the successful applicant will play an important role in ensuring the College grounds, buildings and facilities are safe, functional, welcoming and well presented for students, staff and visitors.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in maintaining high standards and is comfortable working across a busy school environment.


Key Responsibilities 

Key responsibilities will include:

• Undertaking general grounds, building and facilities maintenance across the College.
• Completing routine maintenance, minor repairs and preventative maintenance activities.
• Maintaining College grounds, facilities, resources, tools and equipment in a safe and serviceable condition.
• Identifying and responding to maintenance, safety and presentation issues across the College.
• Assisting with the set-up and pack-down of College functions, events and activities.
• Moving deliveries, furniture, resources and equipment throughout the College.
• Supporting the Facilities Manager and Facilities Team with day-to-day operational and maintenance requirements.
• Assisting with contractors and other facilities-related activities as required.
• Contributing to the cleanliness, safety, presentation and functionality of College facilities and outdoor areas.
• Participating in student supervision duties, including rostered recess, lunchtime and bus duties, to support the safety and wellbeing of students.
• Actively supervising students, maintaining appropriate visibility and responding to behaviour or safety concerns in accordance with College expectations.
• Working collaboratively and flexibly as part of the Facilities Team and undertaking other operational duties as reasonably required.

Student supervision forms an important component of this position, reflecting the shared responsibility of staff for maintaining a safe and supportive College environment.
