About the role
Crisp Bros. & Haywards is seeking a trade qualified Mechanical Fitter/Machinist to join our team in Tasmania that services our southern operations including site construction and installation projects. We service a wide variety of clients across the aquaculture, industrial, mining and construction sectors. The position is permanent, full time after completion of a successful probationary period and is based at our Margate workshop.
Key responsibilities
Mechanical fitting and field service fitting work
Fitting and turning activities
Welding including MIG, MMA and TIG
Work on hydraulic systems
About you
Trade Certificate qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner or similar
Previous experience in mechanical fitting, field service fitting and/or fitting and turning
Intermediate welding skills, including MIG, MMA and TIG
Experience with hydraulic systems is desirable
A positive and proactive approach to workplace safety, quality and continuous improvement
Strong hands-on work ethic and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong communication, fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Flexibility to work across multiple sites as required
A commitment to producing high-quality workmanship
