Why join Team Melbourne?
Located on the traditional lands of the Bunurong Boon Wurrung and Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation, Melbourne is globally recognised as one of the most liveable, diverse, and dynamic cities.
At the heart of it all is the City of Melbourne – a passionate, purpose-driven organisation where your work truly matters. As part of Team Melbourne, you’ll help deliver what’s most important to the people who live, work, study, visit and invest in our great city.
We’re proud champions of diversity, committed to continuous improvement, and driven by a shared vision for a vibrant and sustainable future.
This is more than just a role – it’s your chance to make a real impact, contribute to something bigger, and shape Melbourne’s future alongside a collaborative and forward-thinking team.
About you
You have strong interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to engage confidently with children, parents, and the community. Your professional and courteous approach ensures a positive experience for everyone, and you understand the importance of discretion and maintaining confidentiality.
You’re committed to ongoing learning and development, and you’re willing to build your knowledge of relevant legislation and safety requirements. You can work independently while also contributing positively as part of a team, always focused on creating a safe and supportive environment.
This is a rewarding and important role within the community that is valued and respected by parents, children and road users. If you enjoy the outdoors, making people smile and being a trusted member within the community, then this role may be for you.
All uniforms, equipment and training will be provided.
As we are a child safe organisation, prospective School Crossing Supervisors will be required to undergo a police check and have a current Working with Children Check.
