Lead ICSS Commissioning Engineer – Onshore Process Plant (Brownfield Project)

Join a dynamic team as a Lead ICSS Commissioning Engineer responsible for the safe and effective execution of all commissioning activities for an onshore process plant. You will manage multi-discipline commissioning across electrical & instrumentation, mechanical, piping, controls, and process systems, ensuring compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.

Contract duration: 15 months

Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all aspects of commissioning from preparation through execution, including scope definition, planning, resource allocation, permits, and documentation.

• Develop and implement commissioning strategies and plans linked to project milestones, ensuring alignment with start-up and handover to operations.

• Manage risk identification, mitigation, and progress reporting while coordinating with engineering, construction, completions, and project controls teams to achieve schedule adherence.

• Supervise commissioning engineers and ensure contractor compliance with technical and safety requirements.

• Oversee completions, system handovers, punch list closure, and change management.

• Facilitate communication between site and home office teams, clients, suppliers, and consultants.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Tertiary or relevant trade qualification; PMP or equivalent preferred.

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in oil & gas onshore commissioning, with at least 10 years in construction engineering.

• Proven track record on Australian onshore construction projects and safety systems including permit-to-work.

• Strong leadership, problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
