Disability Support Worker

About the Role

Join the dedicated team at Value Residential Support Services as a Disability Support Worker and make a meaningful difference in people’s lives every day. This casual position is based in Robina, Gold Coast, with opportunities to support clients across surrounding areas including Varsity Lakes and Surfers Paradise.

In this role, you will deliver compassionate, person-centred support to individuals living with disabilities in their homes and communities. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities and providing Supported Independent Living (SIL) support, while promoting independence, dignity, and choice.

As a valued member of our team, you will play a key role in empowering clients to achieve their personal goals, build confidence, and actively participate in their communities.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide high-quality, person-centred support with daily living activities, including personal care, medication assistance, meal preparation, and light household tasks

• Support clients to access and engage with their community, including attending appointments, social outings, and recreational activities

• Monitor clients’ health, wellbeing, and behaviour, promptly reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate team members

• Advocate for clients’ rights, choices, and independence, ensuring services are delivered with dignity, respect, and cultural sensitivity

• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to implement and review individualised support plans tailored to each client’s goals

• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and records in line with organisational policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or complex needs is highly regarded

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with a diverse range of clients

• A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach, with a genuine commitment to enhancing clients’ quality of life

• A positive, proactive, and solution-focused mindset, with the flexibility to adapt to changing client needs

• Current driver’s license and access to reliable transportation

• Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

• A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check and current First Aid and CPR certifications

• Willingness and ability to travel between client locations
