Drillers Required!

Soil Mechanics is family owned drilling contractor specialising in Geotechnical, Environmental & low impact shallow Exploration Drilling.

Headquartered in Canning Vale our operations span across the entirety of Western Australia, including projects in both NT and SA.

Due to strong continued support from our long term clientele, and new assets joining the fleet, we are looking to hire Drillers for both immediate start and commencement in January 2026.

More about the role:

• Full Time Employment.

• Perth metro, regional greenfield and mine site projects.

• FIFO & DIDO Rosters (5&2, 2&1 etc).

What you need:

• Cert III Drilling Operations.

• HR Drivers Licence (Valid).

• Construction White Card (Or able to obtain before role commencement).

• National Police Clearance.

• Provide First Aid (HLTAID011 & HLTAID009).

• Able to pass Pre-Employment medical, inclusive of Drug & Alcohol testing.

• Physically fit and capable of working in varied weather conditions (Extreme heat and humidity in summer, cold winters in the South West etc).

• Unrestricted working rights in Australia.

What we are looking for:

• Highly motivated individuals that want to be industry leaders (We don't like coming 2nd place)!

• Proven experience in delivery of safe & efficient drilling operations in their entirety (Mobilisation - Scope Execution - Demobilisation).

• Excellent communicator, respectful leader and capable of mentoring team members of varied experience levels ("Green" Drill Assistant to cross shift Driller etc).

• Excellent time management, attention to detail and housekeeping

• Experience in multiple drilling disciplines (Diamond, Air Core, Rotary Air, Rotary Mud, Direct Push Probe, Sonic etc). The more the better!

• Experience in multiple geological settings (Sand, clays, shale, limestone, iron ore etc).

• Mid-level mechanical aptitude relevant to drilling rigs, support trucks, air compressors, mud pumps and ancillary plant.

• Prior experience undertaking in-situ testing, instrument installations and bore construction (Preferred).

• Class 1, 2 or 3 Water Well licence (Highly advantageous).
