Help make a difference. Gain experience. Be part of one of Sydney’s most recognised community events.
We are seeking 300+ enthusiastic volunteers on the 25th October 2026 to help deliver the 7 Bridges Walk and create a safe, welcoming and memorable experience for participants across the course and event villages.
This is a fantastic opportunity for university students, staff and members of university communities to get involved in a large-scale community event while developing practical skills and supporting an important cause.
Why volunteer?By volunteering at the 7 Bridges Walk, you’ll have the opportunity to:Record volunteer hours towards university volunteer programs or community engagement initiatives, where applicable.Gain practical event management and customer service experience at a large-scale public event.Develop valuable employability skills, including communication, teamwork, leadership and problem-solving.Meet like-minded people and become part of an enthusiastic volunteer community.Help create an unforgettable experience for thousands of participants taking part in the event.Support the vital work of Cancer Council NSW and make a meaningful contribution to the community.
There are a range of roles available across the course and event villages, including:Course Marshals Help guide participants safely along the walking route and provide friendly support along the way.Village Ticket Scanners Welcome participants, scan event tickets and help ensure a smooth arrival experience.Bridge Stamp Point Crew Encourage walkers, celebrate their progress and stamp participant passports at designated bridge points.Event Team Assistants Support event operations, wayfinding and participant enquiries to help keep the event running smoothly.
We're looking for people who are:Friendly, enthusiastic and community-mindedReliable and willing to get involvedComfortable interacting with members of the publicInterested in gaining hands-on event and customer service experienceKeen to support Cancer Council NSW and be part of a meaningful community event
No previous event experience is required — just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to help!
