About us
DHA was established in 1988 following passage of the Defence Housing Australia Act 1987 (DHA Act) to provide adequate and suitable housing for, and housing related services to, members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and their families. We remain committed to our purpose of providing housing, and housing related services, to ADF members and their families to support Defence’s operational needs.
DHA manages an expanding portfolio of housing solutions and provides housing for over 17,200 ADF members and their families and administers rent allowance for more than 16,000 ADF members and their families in private rental accommodation. DHA provides housing related services advising on eligibility, providing posting support, and managing bookings and allocation services for all DHA provisioned housing and on-base accommodation to approximately 60,000 ADF members.

About your team
The Leasing & Acquisitions team delivers the Approved Provisioning Schedule (APS) through new leases, lease extensions, and retail property acquisitions. The team plays a vital role in building and maintaining strong relationships with property owners, builders, and developers, ensuring timely access to housing in priority locations.
About the role
Defence Housing Australia (DHA) is seeking a motivated self-starter to lead the Leasing and Acquisitions Support Team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record leading and motivating a geographically dispersed team with demonstrated achievements in administrative or support functions. This opportunity is available with flexibility to work from our Canberra, Sydney, Hunter, Perth or Brisbane offices.
Our ideal candidate will have a background in property or a related field, with experience in team leadership, administration, leasing, sales, and/or business development all desirable.
The role will be responsible for leading an administrative team which support the lease and acquisition functions to deliver multiple programs which contribute to provisioning properties for Defence members and their families.
