Advanced Sterilisation Technician

This is a Fixed Term Full Time appointment until 31/12/2026, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. Casual appointments may also be considered. 

Position Profile: This position is responsible for the day to day management of the CSSD service comprising of the maintenance and delivery of sterile stock to theatre, wards and departments of Northam Hospital plus contracted hospitals.

Suitability Criteria:

Suitability recognises that a range of factors contribute to merit, including skills, knowledge, abilities, behaviours, ethical alignment and relevant operational requirements. The suitability requirements below are derived from the Job Description Form and define what will be assessed to determine your suitability for the role:

1. Applicants must possess a Certificate III in Health Service Assistance (Sterilisation Services) and have a minimum of two years relevant experience working in a sterilisation unit.
2. Experience and knowledge of sterilisation services, infection control practices and relevant standards.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with nursing, medical and multidisciplinary staff.
4. Ability to work independently and contribute positively within a small team environment. (EC4)
5. Well-developed organisational and problem solving skills, with a commitment to quality, safety and following established procedures.
