Epic Energy
About the role
Epic Energy is one of Australia's most trusted energy infrastructure companies, delivering reliable energy to homes, businesses and communities. With gas transmission pipelines and a growing portfolio of solar, wind and battery assets, we're helping shape Australia's energy future.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for the next generation of engineers to gain hands-on experience in this fast-changing industry.
About the Internship
Work alongside experienced engineers, get out into the field and contribute to real projects that support critical energy infrastructure across Australia.
We're seeking two enthusiastic students for our 12-week paid internship program:
One Mechanical Engineering Intern
One Electrical Engineering Intern
Each internship will provide tailored exposure to projects, mentors and experiences aligned to your discipline, while also giving you the opportunity to collaborate across multiple engineering teams and learn how different disciplines work together to keep critical energy infrastructure operating safely and efficiently.
During the program, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Visit remote pipeline facilities, compressor stations and renewable energy sites.
See how critical infrastructure is monitored and operated from our Control Room.
Work with experienced engineers on asset improvement and maintenance projects.
Learn how engineering decisions impact safety, reliability and operational performance.
Collaborate with engineers, technicians, operators and project teams across the business.
Take ownership of a real engineering project from commencement through to completion.
No two days will be the same. You could be visiting a site one week and analysing data or contributing to an engineering study the next.
After the 12-week program, successful interns will be invited to continue working with Epic Energy one day per week for the remainder of the year, building valuable experience alongside their studies.
Your Internship Project
As an intern, you'll be assigned a real project aligned to your discipline, interests and Epic's business needs.
You'll take ownership of your project from commencement through to completion, while being supported by an experienced engineer who will act as your mentor throughout the program. They'll provide technical guidance, industry knowledge and career advice as you gain practical engineering experience.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for students who are motivated, curious and excited about the opportunity to learn and grow in a real-world engineering environment.
To be successful, you'll be:
Currently studying a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
Entering your final year of study
Interested in infrastructure, engineering problem-solving and the future of energy.
Keen to gain practical, hands-on experience outside of university.
A strong communicator who enjoys working as part of a team.
Willing to learn, ask questions and take initiative.
Able to travel to operational sites when required.
