The Regional Livestock Exchanges (RLX) initiative focuses on developing regionally significant modern livestock facilities within strategic locations, chosen for stock numbers, transport efficiency and long-term sustainability.

Northern Victoria Livestock Exchanges (NVLX) is the largest cattle selling centre in Victoria with recorded throughput in excess of 253,000 head of cattle in 2006-2007 and a ten year throughput average in excess of 205,000.

Responsibilities:

• Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on site assets including equipment, machinery to ensure optimal functionality.
• Facility Repairs: Address and resolve infrastructure and mechanical issues to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for livestock.
• Preventative Maintenance: Implement preventative measures to minimise downtime and extend the lifespan of plant and equipment and facility infrastructure.

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience in plant and equipment maintenance.
• Light fabrication and welding experience.
• Knowledge of plant and equipment such as loaders, tractors, feed mixers 
• Knowledge of pumps and livestock watering systems.
• Previous experience operating a skid steer and telehandler.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to work in a dynamic, challenging and rewarding environment.
