Associate/Principal Forensic Engineer

As our Victorian business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Associate or Principal Structural Engineer to join our Melbourne team and play a key leadership role in the continued expansion of our Forensic & Remedial offering.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded engineer who enjoys building client relationships, winning work, leading complex forensic investigations and contributing to the strategic growth of a national business. You will work closely with senior leaders across the business while becoming a recognised technical and market presence within the Victorian forensic engineering sector.
 
Your day will be busy and varied including: 

• Leading complex forensic investigations and remedial engineering projects across residential, commercial and industrial structures
• Conducting site inspections and investigations across metropolitan and regional VIC
• Preparing high-quality technical reports identifying cause of failure, extent of damage and recommended remediation solutions
• Developing remedial repair methodologies and rectification documentation for damaged structures and construction-related issues
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with insurers, legal professionals, asset owners, builders and other industry stakeholders
• Contributing to business development activities including client engagement, networking, tenders, proposals and capability presentations
• Identifying and securing new business opportunities while strengthening Intrax’s market presence in VIC
• Providing technical leadership, mentoring and support to engineers within the broader Forensic & Remedial team
• Supporting innovation initiatives including process improvement, system enhancement and quality assurance activities
• Representing Intrax at industry events, technical discussions and client presentations

Technically you will have a demonstrable track record that covers: 

• 8–10+ years’ experience within forensic or remedial engineering
• Strong forensic investigation and technical report writing capability across residential, commercial and industrial assets
• Previous structural design experience across building structures, including remedial and strengthening solutions
• Experience working with insurers, legal professionals, builders, developers or asset owners
• Exposure to tenders, proposals and business development activities, with the ability to contribute to or lead work-winning initiatives
• Strong understanding of the National Construction Code and relevant Australian Standards
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
• Chartered Engineer status essential
• Current Australian driver’s licence
