We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Commercial Manager to lead commercial and contract management activities on a major infrastructure program within Perth Airport's Planning and Projects portfolio. This key leadership role is responsible for driving commercial excellence, managing contract risk, strengthening governance and procurement practices, and ensuring strong commercial outcomes across a diverse range of capital projects and infrastructure initiatives delivered under the program.

About the role

As the Senior Commercial Manager, you will lead the development and execution of commercial and contract management strategies that support the successful delivery of a major infrastructure program within Perth Airport's capital portfolio. Working closely with project teams, business leaders, suppliers and stakeholders, you will provide expert commercial guidance, oversee complex contract negotiations, manage risk and claims, and ensure robust governance frameworks are in place to optimise project outcomes and deliver long-term value.

• Lead and develop the commercial management function, fostering a high-performing, collaborative and customer-focused team culture.

• Drive the development, implementation and continuous improvement of commercial and contract management frameworks, processes and systems.

• Provide strategic commercial leadership across major infrastructure and capital projects within the program, from procurement through to contract close-out.

• Develop contracting and procurement strategies that balance risk, value for money and program delivery objectives.

• Lead complex contract negotiations and provide expert guidance on claims, disputes and commercial matters.

• Partner with project managers and contract owners to ensure effective contract administration and governance throughout the project lifecycle.

• Monitor contract performance, commercial viability and risk exposure, implementing mitigation strategies where required.

• Support the development and delivery of project procurement activities aligned with program objectives and Perth Airport's capital portfolio priorities.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance commercial performance, efficiency and compliance outcomes.

• Ensure safety, environmental and sustainability considerations are integrated into procurement, contracting and project delivery activities.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants and suppliers to achieve successful program and project outcomes.

• Contribute to strategic planning and business improvement initiatives that support the delivery of Perth Airport's long-term infrastructure program.

About you

• Tertiary qualifications in Law, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.

• Extensive experience in senior commercial and contract management roles within infrastructure, construction, engineering or major projects environments.

• Strong knowledge of contract management, procurement methodologies and contracting models across complex project delivery programs.

• Proven ability to negotiate and deliver successful commercial outcomes while balancing operational, financial and contractual risk.

• Demonstrated experience managing claims, disputes and complex commercial matters.

• Strong understanding of governance, compliance and risk management frameworks within a project environment.

• Highly developed analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex commercial challenges.

• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation.

• Proven leadership capability with experience developing high-performing teams and mentoring commercial professionals.

• Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to interpret commercial data and translate insights into business outcomes.

• Ability to operate strategically while maintaining a hands-on approach to supporting project delivery and commercial performance.

• Demonstrated commitment to safety, sustainability and continuous improvement.
