This is an exciting opportunity to join the Work Health and Safety (WHS) team at a pivotal stage in the City of Stirling's WHS journey. As a trusted business partner, you will work closely with leaders and operational teams to drive meaningful change, strengthen WHS capability, and embed proactive safety practices across the organisation.

You will have the opportunity to influence decision-making, support continuous improvement initiatives, and make a tangible contribution to ensuring our people return home safe and well every day.

What You'll Be Doing

• Identifying opportunities to improve WHS systems, processes, procedures, and documentation.
• Partnering with Business Units to develop and implement practical, fit-for-purpose solutions that meet legislative and organisational requirements.
• Supporting leaders to translate WHS strategy into effective operational practices and sustainable outcomes.
• Building strong relationships with stakeholders and influencing positive WHS performance across all levels of the organisation.
• Facilitating a proactive and preventative approach to WHS through coaching, engagement, education, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Providing expert WHS advice and pragmatic risk management solutions to support informed decision-making.
• Coaching and mentoring leaders to enhance WHS capability, accountability, and compliance.
• Leading incident investigations, identifying contributing factors and root causes, and ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented.
• Monitoring contractor WHS performance and supporting compliance with legislative, contractual, and organisational requirements.
• Responding to complex WHS enquiries and delivering professional, customer-focused stakeholder support

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

• Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety and professional expertise.
• Demonstrated experience in a WHS advisory, business partnering, or consultancy role.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.
• Proven ability to drive growth in positive safety behaviour and organisational change.
• Experience working within operational and frontline environments.
• Sound knowledge of contemporary WHS legislation, risk management principles, and industry best practice.
• Experience monitoring and improving contractor WHS compliance and performance.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to identifying and managing complex WHS challenges.
• The ability to build trusted relationships and effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

This is a newly created permanent full-time position, with a salary range of $133,353 to $140,374 per annum.
