Senior Project Engineer – High Rise Residential – Structure & Façade

Our client is a construction head contractor and as a result of continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their team to work on a $100m+ high-rise residential project amongst others.
The candidate will ideally have some experience working on head contractor side on 20+ storey high rise residential projects in the Gold Coast / Brisbane / Sunshine Coast market with local knowledge. They will also look at other candidates without local experience but with high rise residential experience.
As Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of projects from construction through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to their quality standards. The ideal candidate will have previous experience delivering structure and façade packages.
Will be reporting to an excellent Project Manager on the job.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Project Delivery & Site Coordination Assisting with the planning, coordination and execution of construction worksManaging subcontractors, suppliers and consultants on siteMonitoring construction programs, procurement schedules and project milestonesReviewing construction drawings, shop drawings and technical documentationResolving technical issues and contributing to value engineering initiatives
Quality, Safety & ComplianceOverseeing quality control across site activitiesEnsuring compliance with WHS, environmental and statutory requirementsSupporting site safety systems, inspections and reporting
Reporting & Stakeholder Coordination Supporting project reporting, progress claims and cost trackingBuilding strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholdersAssisting the Project Manager with day-to-day project administration as required
Qualifications and Requirements:Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or similarMinimum 5 – 15 + years’ experience ideally working on high rise residential projectsStrong Queensland market knowledge would be idealUnderstanding of the Local and State building codes and WHS requirementsStrong project financial reporting skillsStrategic thinker who is able to see the bigger pictureExcellent verbal and written communication skillsWell-developed interpersonal skillsStrong understanding of construction methodologies and site operationsProactive, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
