Billings and Systems / Patient Accounts Clerk

About the Role

We are looking for a Billings & System - Patient Accounts Clerk to join our team on a Permanent Full-Time basis. 

This role is based at our Clayfield Support Office, conveniently located close to public transport with free street parking available. You will be part of a collaborative and supportive team of eight, with access to comprehensive onsite training and work across a roster Monday to Friday. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Run weekly reports detailing outstanding accounts
• Target outstanding accounts to be balanced no longer than 90 days from the date of service
• Conduct audits, liaise with debtors (Work Cover, hospitals, DVA, sporting teams, health funds and private patients), correct payments and item numbers, and create payment plans as appropriate
• Prepare reports to be included in Board reporting outlining outstanding debtors, refunds and write off

About You:The ideal candidate will have experience in medical administration, patient accounts, or similar, excellent customer service skills, and be a whizz when it comes to organisation and time management. You will also have:

• Sound computer literacy skills, including Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel skills
• High-level administrative and word processing skills
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to ensure privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of patients
• Radiology Billing knowledge is highly desirable 
• Previous experience working in the healthcare industry
