Join the Cape York Kidney Care Program and help shape better health outcomes across one of Australia's most unique and rewarding regions. Based in Weipa, you'll work alongside a passionate multidisciplinary team delivering specialist kidney care to communities including Napranum, Mapoon, Aurukun, Pormpuraaw and Kowanyama, helping people access high-quality care closer to home.

WHY YOU'LL LOVE THIS ROLE...  This is far more than a traditional GP position - combining chronic disease management with diverse rural generalist practice, you'll work at the forefront of culturally responsive healthcare while enjoying the adventure, lifestyle and professional satisfaction that only remote medicine can offer.

Working closely with a renal nurse practitioner, dietitian, aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health professionals and specialist nephrology teams in Cairns, you'll deliver life-changing care while supporting stronger local health services across Cape York.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

• Deliver specialist kidney care across the Western Cape region.
• Travel to remote Cape York communities, building relationships and improving access to care, and provide face-to-face and telehealth consultations for people living with chronic kidney disease.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop coordinated care plans whilst supporting quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the ongoing development of the Kidney Care Program.
• Partner with local and regional healthcare providers.
• Contribute as a Senior Medical Officer within Weipa Integrated Health Service, supporting emergency, inpatient and after-hours services.

Salary Information (L13-L27) - Total Remuneration value of between $409,980 (L13) up to $612,865 (L27)
