About the role

We are seeking a General Factory Hand to join our production team at our Crestmead facility, starting as a casual role that will convert to full-time after a probation period. This hands-on manufacturing role is vital to our assembly and process operations. As a General Factory Hand, you will support the production of quality seating products through various assembly and process work activities. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic manufacturing environment where your contributions directly impact product quality and operational success.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the assembly of automotive seats, following detailed work instructions and specifications.

• Perform various assembly tasks using hand tools and machinery as required.

• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications.

• Maintain a clean, organised work area and follow health and safety protocols.

• Support the efficient movement of materials and components throughout the production process.

• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback on production processes.

• Follow all company policies, procedures and safety regulations at all times.

• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff to support manufacturing operations.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, preferably in automotive or seat manufacturing

• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and technical specifications accurately

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

• Competency in using hand tools and basic machinery safely and effectively

• Physical capability to perform manual labour tasks, including lifting and carrying materials

• Reliability and consistency in meeting production schedules and targets

• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different production processes

• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety principles

• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

• Desirable: Experience with automotive components or familiarity with quality control processes
