We are looking for an experienced and passionate Conference & Events Assistant Manager to support our Conference & Events Operations Manager and help lead the delivery of outstanding events and food & beverage experiences throughout the hotel.

Job Description

As Conference & Events Assistant Manager, you will play a key leadership role in the day-to-day operation of our Conference & Events department while supporting the wider Food & Beverage team as required.

• Support the Conference & Events Operations Manager in the daily leadership and coordination of conference, banquet and event operations
• Lead event service teams to deliver exceptional experiences across meetings, conferences, weddings, social events and gala functions
• Ensure events are executed seamlessly, with a strong focus on service standards, timing and attention to detail
• Act as a hands-on leader, providing guidance, support and coaching to team members throughout service
• Assist with team rostering, training, performance management and development
• Build strong relationships with clients, guests and internal stakeholders to ensure successful event delivery
• Conduct event briefings and ensure all operational details are communicated clearly to the team
• Monitor service delivery and proactively resolve issues to ensure an exceptional guest experience
• Support food and beverage operations across the hotel, including restaurant, bar and in-room dining outlets as required
• Assist in maintaining labour, productivity and operational targets
• Uphold all food safety, workplace health and safety, and responsible service requirements
• Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture

Qualifications

• Previous leadership experience within Conference & Events, Banquets, Food & Beverage or hotel operations
• Strong operational knowledge across conference, events and food & beverage environments
• A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• A hands-on leadership style and willingness to support operationally wherever required
• Sound understanding of food and beverage service standards and event execution
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with exceptional attention to detail
• A current RSA Certificate
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
