As an Engineering co-ordinator / tradesperson, you will play a key role in the manufacture, installation, maintenance and ongoing support of mechanical and engineering systems across new vessel construction, refits and in-service fleet support.

Working closely with the Production Manager, Project Managers and wider engineering team, you will deliver high-quality outcomes while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest industry standards.

This role also provides the opportunity to contribute to the design and implementation of new manufacturing technologies and innovative vessel systems supporting the decarbonisation of the maritime industry.

What You'll Be Doing

• Co-ordinating, Manufacturing, fabricating, machining and installation of custom engineering components and equipment on new vessel constructions and vessel refits

• Carry out installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of vessel machinery and engineering systems.

• Coordinate and attend site visits to provide servicing, warranty and after-sales support for client vessels.

• Diagnose faults and develop practical engineering solutions in workshop and field environments.

• Work closely with clients, vessel owners and operators to ensure timely and professional support.

• Collaborate with Project Managers, the Production Foreman and management to meet project schedules, commercial objectives and quality expectations.

• Assist with planning and forecasting labour and resource requirements.

• Contribute to research, development and implementation of new products, manufacturing methods and engineering technologies.

• Complete service reports, work documentation and project records accurately and on time.

• Mentor apprentices and junior tradespeople, promoting a positive team culture and continuous improvement.

• Support the implementation of company policies, quality systems and Workplace Health & Safety requirements.

• Promote professionalism, teamwork and a positive safety culture in everything you do.

About You

We're looking for someone who is technically capable, motivated and enjoys taking ownership of their work.

You'll ideally bring:

• Extensive experience in engineering trades such as fitting, machining, mechanical systems or similar.

• Experience working on commercial, government or marine vessels, or complex industrial equipment.

• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors and colleagues.

• The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a collaborative team.

• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.

• A proactive attitude with a willingness to embrace new technologies and continuous improvement.

• The ability to mentor and support apprentices and less experienced team members.

• A strong commitment to safety, quality and professional workmanship.

Desirable Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Engineering (Marine Mechanical, Fitting & Machining or equivalent).

• Maritime qualifications or experience in marine engineering, vessel construction or vessel operations.

• Current Forklift, EWP or other relevant plant licences.

• Current Australian Driver Licence.

 Working Hours

This is a full-time position based primarily at our Brisbane manufacturing facility, with regular travel to client sites and vessels as required.

Standard hours are Monday to Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work to support vessel commissioning, maintenance and client operational requirements.

This position reports directly to the Production Foreman Manager and Director.
