Plant Propagators/Nursery Hand/Potting Hand/Dispatch Picker

About the role

Instant Green Nursery Pty Ltd is seeking reliable and motivated people to join the nursery production team across multiple casual positions covering propagation, standard and advanced potting, dispatch, and grounds and machinery maintenance.

The below roles are currently being recruited:

Propagation Hand:

• Prepare propagation areas and mix soil media, filling trays, pots and containers to standard

• Plant seeds, cuttings, plugs and divisions according to nursery procedures

• Water stock manually and operate irrigation systems under supervision

• Monitor plant health and report pests, disease or stress

• Label trays and batches accurately to maintain stock control and biosecurity

Standard Potting Hand:

• Pot and transplant tube stock into larger containers

• Prepare growing media and containers in line with production requirements

• Assist with stock spacing, grading and labelling

• Monitor plant health and report pests, diseases or abnormalities

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in potting areas

Advanced Potting Hand:

• Pot and transplant larger, more established stock into advanced containers

• Operate nursery equipment and machinery safely to support advanced potting lines

• Maintain plant presentation and quality standards across larger-format stock

• Support consistent production efficiency for advanced tree and specimen stock

Dispatch Picker:

• Identify plant locations from the nursery map and picking slips issued by the Dispatch Manager

• Pick and label correct plant stock, loading onto trolleys ready for dispatch

• Remove dead or damaged material and prune plants to promote healthy presentation

• Complete shipping and delivery documentation accurately and on time

About you

• Previous nursery, horticulture, farm, landscaping or labouring experience

• Physically fit and capable of repetitive lifting, bending and standing, and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Reliable, punctual and committed to consistent attendance, with a positive, team-focused attitude

• Strong attention to detail, particularly when planting, potting, picking and labelling

• Able to follow instructions accurately, work at a steady pace and use basic hand tools and equipment safely
