The role
You will bring Structural engineering expertise to Worley and its customers, contributing to, and managing, a portfolio of projects across multiple major customers in the resources (mining and minerals) and energy sectors. Your skills will include strong technical design experience, as well as team leadership across high complexity multi discipline projects.
This position is based in our Perth office with flexible working from home options available.
Responsibilities
Lead a team of Structural engineers and designers to deliver discipline specific engineering services that satisfy Worley, its clients and meet applicable statutory and regulatory requirements on time and within budget.Ensure the production of high-quality technical deliverables produced by both you and the teamProvide technical support, supervision and advice to the discipline team and the wider project teams who may be situated both locally and remotely in our global officesManage resource allocation of the Structural team across multiple portfolios, to ensure effective utilisation and delivery by proactively liaising with the portfolio and contract leadership to anticipate resource requirementsCross-disciplinary coordination to support successful delivery of customer requirementsPromotion of workshare between global Worley officesProactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley and its customers' requirements.Support effective communication within the Structural engineering team and project stakeholders, including customers.Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.Technical supervision, mentorship and development of junior engineers
Perform Tasks Such As
Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow Worley management system processes and proceduresClarify and effectively manage project scope and raise changes in line with project change management processes;Gather data from multiple sources and prepare engineering studies, analyses and calculations. Support the technical development of solutions and recommendations, and create final documentation for project deliverables.Perform review/detailed checking on work completed by both local and workshare offices.Provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities.Provide input to proposals in preparing hours estimates, clarifications and bid documentationParticipate in and champion technical stewardship and assurance activities within the Structural team, including technical peer reviews, investigations and compliance checks.
What You Will Bring
Bachelor of Structural Engineering or relevant degree15+ years' experience in Structural engineering design in the mining, energy and/or infrastructure sectorHighly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its customers.Strong understanding of how Structural designers perform their duties using 3D modelling and drafting packages.Proven experience in successfully leading teams delivering projects under tight schedules is essentialLean delivery mindsetSound knowledge of applicable local and international standards, as well as statutory and regulatory requirementsExposure to developing Structural design across a range of project cycles using Australian StandardsAgility and flexibility across both your own, and the teams work, across multiple concurrent scopes for different customersExperience working with and managing diverse teams across multiple geographic locationsAbility to manage conflicting priorities effectivelyChartered Professional Engineer status, registration on an appropriate national engineering register, and any relevant state-based professional engineering registration, such as RPEQ or RPEV, are highly regarded.
