Product Owner

About the RoleAn exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Product Owner to join a technology-focused organisation, taking ownership of a critical software product that supports core operational activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the ongoing development, support and enhancement of a business-critical application used by operational teams in the field. Working across software and cloud-based environments, you'll play a key role in ensuring the product continues to meet the needs of users and stakeholders.
Working closely with Developers, Testers, business stakeholders and other technology teams, you'll be responsible for eliciting and prioritising requirements, translating them into actionable Jira tickets and ensuring development work is sprint-ready. You'll also play an important role in managing competing stakeholder priorities and providing clear direction to the delivery team.
This is an initial 6-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension, offering the opportunity to take ownership of a critical production product while working within a collaborative and technically focused team.

Key ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of the ongoing development, support and enhancement of a critical production software productLiaise with key stakeholders to elicit and understand business and user requirementsGather, assess and prioritise competing product requirementsChallenge stakeholders and provide direction on priorities where requiredTranslate requirements into clear and actionable Jira ticketsPrepare tickets and requirements for development sprintsWork closely with Developers and Testers throughout the delivery lifecycleManage product priorities across approximately three-week development cyclesSupport the ongoing management of a live production applicationWork with the development team to identify, prioritise and resolve bugs and issuesCoordinate closely with other technology teams where there are application dependenciesEnsure changes across connected applications and platforms are appropriately alignedMaintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and technology teamsSupport the release of new product versions and ongoing product improvementsIdentify opportunities to improve the product and development processContribute to additional technology initiatives and projects as business priorities evolve
