The position
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Case Worker to join our ACT Conference Support team. The role provides short-term, practical support to companions referred by ACT Conferences, with a focus on early intervention, assessment and connecting people with appropriate local and specialist services.
Working under the guidance of the ACT Conference Support Coordinator, you will support companions to address immediate needs, build confidence and capacity, and connect with longer-term supports where required. You will also provide case-related advice, information and referral support to ACT Conferences, helping strengthen pathways to services across the ACT.
This is a permanent part-time position working a minimum of 45 hours per fortnight, Monday to Friday.
About you
You are a compassionate and approachable professional who genuinely values people and treats others with empathy, respect and understanding. You are confident engaging with people from diverse backgrounds and circumstances and bring a calm, professional approach to your work.
You will bring strong interpersonal and organisational skills, together with initiative, flexibility and resilience. You are self-aware, able to work independently and contribute effectively within a team, with demonstrated experience in case management and supporting people with complex needs.
A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Services or a related discipline, or equivalent experience, is required. The successful applicants must hold a current driver’s licence and will be required to complete a National Police Check and hold, or obtain, a Working with Vulnerable People Card (WWVP) and Working with Children Check (WWCC) upon commencement.
