About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an Registered Nurse to professionally develop their skills, knowledge and expertise in Ophthalmology surgery. Working collaboratively with all members of the peri-operative and broader hospital team, supporting the Perioperative Services Manager to facilitate excellence and quality in patient focused care, through proactive leadership and innovative strategic planning aligned to best practice in Ophthalmology.
Scrub scout experience in Ophthalmology surgery is essential for this position.
Your main duties will include:
Competence in basic nursing practice and providing direct care in more complex nursing care situationsCollaborate and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.Provide education and training in Ophthalmology perioperative skills to the theatre team Delegate, direct & supervise aspects of care to others according to their competence and scope of practiceAccurate and timely clinical and administration documentation.Provide clinical support for education, knowledge and skills-based trainingActively participate in quality improvement activities and monitoringWork closely with Ophthalmology VMOs on preferencesManagement of equipment, inventory and key liaison with medical representatives/companiesCommitment to ongoing professional development
About You
Registration with AHPRA and in possession of a current practising certificateExcellent communication skills, written and verbalHas recent experience in OphthalmologyAbility to work with within a team and establish a positive team cultureDemonstrated decision making and delegation skillsAbility to work with key stakeholders
