About the Role
The Royal Australian Mint’s Legal Services Section is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Legal Research Officer/ Paralegal to assist with a diverse range of legal matters including commercial law, employment law, contract and procurement support, privacy and freedom of information.
The Legal Research Officer/ Paralegal will contribute to technical excellence through research, analysis and knowledge sharing to support the delivery of high-quality advice to internal and external stakeholders. Drafting includes high-quality documents such as briefs, instruments, agreements, delegations, policies and correspondence.
In addition, the Legal Research Officer/ Paralegal plays a key role in delivering administrative and business support services within a busy and dynamic team. Working under limited direction, the position is responsible for managing administrative activities, maintaining accurate records and reporting systems, supporting financial and procurement processes, and contributing to informed decision-making through research and analysis.
The role requires sound judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and legislative frameworks while providing high-quality support to achieve organisational outcomes.
The key duties of the position include:Security clearance
This position requires a Baseline clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a Government Legal Section or private law firm is also highly regarded.
