Venue Manager - Torquay Taphouse - Full Time (permanent)

The Taphouse is the home of Great Ocean Road Brewing, and we're looking for an experienced Venue Manager to join our team.

This is a hands on leadership role for someone who loves hospitality, enjoys being on the floor and knows what it takes to create a great venue experience, for both customers and the team behind the scenes.

We're looking for someone who can take the lead of the day to day operation, lead our team and help us continue to build a workplace where people enjoy coming to work.

We're an independently owned, family run brewery with a strong connection to the Surf Coast community.

You could be working a busy summer service, coordinating the next event, function or brewery experience. You'll meet locals, tourists, families and beer lovers and be part of a team that enjoys what they do.

As Venue Manager, you'll play a key role in the day to day running of the Taphouse while also looking ahead and identifying opportunities to improve the business.

You'll be responsible for:

• Leading and developing the team and creating a positive, high performing culture.

• Being hands on and visible on the floor.

• Driving exceptional service and guest experiences.

• Analysing venue performance and identifying opportunities to improve sales and operations.

• Planning and delivering functions and events from start to finish.

• Developing ideas for events, experiences, promotions and revenue opportunities.

• Implementing processes that improve the way the venue operates.

• Working closely with the owners, the head chef and wider team to continue developing the Taphouse.

An experienced hospitality leader who is confident in leading the team and helping shape the future of the Taphouse. 

You'll ideally bring:

• Previous experience in a Venue Manager, Operations Manager, Assistant Venue Manager or similar senior role.

• Strong leadership and communication skills.

• A proactive, organised approach.

• Business acumen and confidence working with figures.

• A natural ability to think ahead and identify opportunities.

• Initiative and a willingness to turn ideas into action.

• A passion for hospitality, beer, events and the local Surf Coast community.

• Availability across evenings, weekends, public holidays and the Christmas/New Year period.
