Foreperson - Flemington

Kavanagh Racing is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Foreperson to join our team at Flemington Racecourse.

This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and capable horseperson with a strong background in the thoroughbred racing industry. The successful applicant will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the stable and must be confident handling racehorses.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily supervision and care of horses in training
• Saddling and preparing horses for trackwork and race days
• Attending race meetings
• Liaising with trainers, staff, jockeys and race day officials
• Organisation and supervision of stable staff
• Monitoring horses and reporting any concerns to management
• General stable duties as required

The Successful Applicant Will Have

• Previous experience working in a senior role within a thoroughbred racing stable
• Confidence and experience saddling racehorses
• The ability and willingness to attend race days
• Excellent horse handling skills and a calm, professional manner
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• A strong work ethic and genuine passion for the racing industry
• A truck licence would be highly regarded,
