High Voltage Specialist – Data Centres

We are seeking an experienced High Voltage Specialist to join our Data Centre team and play a key role in the delivery, commissioning and ongoing support of high-voltage electrical systems across major data centre projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HV professional who wants to work on large-scale, technically complex and mission-critical projects within the rapidly growing data centre sector.

About the Role

As a High Voltage Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of HV electrical infrastructure across data centre projects, ensuring systems are installed, tested, commissioned and maintained to the highest standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and supporting HV electrical works across large-scale data centre projects

• HV switching, isolation and energisation activities

• Supporting HV testing, commissioning and fault finding

• Reviewing HV drawings, schematics, protection settings and technical documentation

• Coordinating with project managers, engineers, electricians, subcontractors and specialist vendors

• Ensuring HV works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements

• Supporting HV maintenance, inspections and troubleshooting

• Participating in commissioning and integrated systems testing

• Ensuring compliance with relevant Australian Standards, legislation, procedures and client requirements

• Preparing and reviewing HV documentation, test reports and commissioning records

• Supporting the development and implementation of HV switching procedures and isolation plans

• Identifying technical issues and providing practical solutions on site

• Maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and reliability

About You

We are looking for someone with strong practical and technical HV experience who is comfortable working within high-risk, mission-critical environments.

You will ideally have:

• Relevant electrical trade or engineering qualifications

• Significant experience working with High Voltage electrical systems

• Experience in data centres, critical infrastructure, utilities, industrial or major commercial projects

• Strong understanding of HV switching, isolation, testing and commissioning

• Experience interpreting electrical drawings and technical documentation

• A strong understanding of electrical safety and HV procedures

• The ability to work effectively with multiple project stakeholders

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

• A proactive approach with the ability to work independently when required

• A strong commitment to safety and quality

• Data centre experience is highly desirable, but candidates from other critical infrastructure or industrial HV environments will also be considered.
