Youth Projects
About the role
Help young people break down barriers to participation with Youth Projects!
This is not your average employment consultant role. Based at our St Albans site, Youth Coaches work alongside young people to identify and address the personal, social and practical barriers that can make it harder to engage in employment or education. By recognising each young person’s strengths, goals and individual circumstances, you will help open doors to meaningful opportunities and support young people to build a future on their own terms.
As a Youth Coach, you won’t just help young people aged 15–25 find work. You’ll empower them to develop real-world skills, confidence and independence. Using a strengths-based case management approach and working alongside our Recruitment Partner and Community Engagement team, you’ll be a mentor, advocate and connector between young people and local employment, education and participation opportunities through the Transition to Work program.
What you’ll bring:
Does this sound like you?
Then we want to hear from you!
Get to know us:
Youth Projects is an independent registered charity providing frontline support to people experiencing disadvantage across Melbourne. We work to open pathways out of poverty and homelessness and break the cycle of disadvantage.
Our work is grounded in respect, person-centred care and harm prevention. Through our holistic model of care, we support people to live longer, healthier lives with meaningful employment and a stronger sense of belonging, safety and security.
Why should you work with us?
At Youth Projects, we are lucky to have a passionate, high-energy team. We love what we do and have fun doing it while keeping things professional.
We are committed to providing a flexible environment that supports work-life balance and prioritises professional development through regular training and internal development opportunities. Most importantly, you will see how your work makes a real difference to people in your community.
But wait, there’s more!
Have you made it this far?
If you’re still reading, we think there’s a strong chance you might be our kind of person.

Our commitment to diversity, inclusion and belonging:
At Youth Projects, we value the unique experiences, perspectives and contributions that a diverse workforce brings. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and welcoming workplace for all.
We actively encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, culturally and linguistically diverse communities and people of all genders, sexualities and identities, including members of the LGBTIQA+ community.
