Kids Under Cover
About the role
Help turn philanthropic investment into lasting change for young people at risk of homelessness.
This is more than a grants role.
At Kids Under Cover you will have the opportunity to help determine what philanthropy makes possible.
This is an opportunity for someone who is an outstanding relationship builder, a persuasive communicator and a strategic thinker who can turn ideas into compelling opportunities for investment.
Kids Under Cover is a not-for-profit organisation committed to preventing youth homelessness before it starts. We believe every young person should have the safety, stability and opportunity they need to build their future.
Our work combines innovative housing responses with programs and partnerships that help young people remain connected to family, education, community and pathways towards independence.
Philanthropy is critical to our ability to innovate, grow and respond to emerging need.
Reporting to the Head of Impact, the Philanthropy Manager will lead Kids Under Cover’s engagement with the philanthropic sector and drive sustainable income from trusts, foundations, Private Ancillary Funds and other philanthropic partners.
The role spans the full philanthropic relationship journey — from identifying and cultivating prospective partners to developing compelling funding propositions, securing investment, stewardship, reporting and renewal.
You will work closely with the Head of Impact, CEO and teams across KUC to understand our priorities and translate them into opportunities that inspire philanthropic investment.
Further details about the responsibilities of the role are contained in the attached Position Description.
You understand that successful philanthropy starts with purpose, trust and relationships — not an application form.
You will bring strong experience in philanthropy, fundraising, partnerships, business development or a related field and be comfortable developing relationships with senior and influential stakeholders.
Experience in homelessness, housing, youth or the broader community sector would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
What matters most is your ability to build strong relationships, understand what motivates philanthropic investment and connect shared purpose with meaningful impact.
We would love to hear from experienced philanthropy professionals — and from people with highly transferable relationship, partnership or business-development experience who are motivated by our purpose.
