HRW Trainer & Assessor

Civil Construction & High Risk Work Trainer & Assessor - We are looking for an experienced Civil Construction and High Risk Work Trainer & Assessor to join our team, with opportunities to deliver training and assessment across Tier 1 mining sites, oil & gas projects, pipeline construction, civil works and major infrastructure projects.
This role is ideal for someone with strong, hands-on experience across civil construction, mining, oil & gas, pipelines or major infrastructure who enjoys passing their knowledge on to others.
You will deliver quality, practical training and competency-based assessments across a range of civil plant, machinery and High Risk Work licences/tickets.
You'll work with participants from different levels of experience, from people entering the industry through to experienced operators and site personnel completing additional tickets, Verification of Competency (VOC)assessments or site-specific upskilling.
The Role Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering nationally recognised training and assessment
• Delivering training and assessment across Tier 1 mining, oil & gas, pipeline, civil and major infrastructure projects
• Conducting practical and theory-based training
• Assessing participants against relevant units of competency
• Delivering training across Civil Construction plant and equipment
• Delivering High Risk Work training and assessment within your areas of competency
• Conducting Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments where required
• Working with experienced operators and site personnel to meet client and project competency requirements
• Supporting training requirements across pipeline construction, earthworks, mining and infrastructure environments
• Maintaining accurate training and assessment records
• Ensuring training is delivered safely and in accordance with WHS, client and site requirements
• Providing practical guidance based on real industry experience
• Working with our team and clients to maintain a high standard of training delivery and compliance

Tickets & Experience We are particularly interested in trainers and assessors with experience and competency across areas such as:

• Excavator
• Front End Loader
• Skid Steer Loader
• Roller
• Dozer
• Grader
• Backhoe
• Articulated Haul Truck / Dump Truck
• Water Cart
• Forklift
• EWP
• Dogging
• Basic, Intermediate and/or Advanced Rigging
• Basic, Intermediate and/or Advanced Scaffolding
• C6 – Slewing Mobile Crane (up to 60 tonnes)
• Other crane operations and High Risk Work licences
• Other relevant Civil Construction and High Risk Work licences and competencies

You do not necessarily need to hold every ticket listed above. We are interested in hearing from experienced trainers who can bring a strong range of civil, mining, oil & gas, pipeline and/or High Risk Work competencies to the role.
What You'll Need Ideally, you will have:

• Current TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or an accepted equivalent
• Relevant Civil Construction qualifications, tickets and/or statements of attainment
• Current High Risk Work Licences relevant to the training you deliver
• Demonstrated hands-on experience within Tier 1 mining, oil & gas, pipeline construction, civil construction, earthmoving, infrastructure or major projects
• Previous experience working on major project or mine sites and an understanding of Tier 1 client requirements and safety standards
• Experience within oil & gas and pipeline infrastructure environments will be highly regarded
• Strong knowledge of safe plant and equipment operation
• Excellent communication and practical training skills
• Ability to work confidently with participants from a range of backgrounds and experience levels
• Strong attention to compliance, documentation and assessment requirements
• Current driver's licence

Relevant WorkSafe assessor accreditation will be highly regarded where required for High Risk Work licence assessments.
What We're Looking For We want someone who is credible on the machine, on a Tier 1 project site and in the training room.
You'll understand the realities of working across mining, oil & gas, pipeline construction, civil and major infrastructure environments and be able to translate that experience into practical, engaging training.
You'll be comfortable working within the safety, compliance and operational expectations of Tier 1 clients and major projects, while demonstrating equipment, explaining safe operating techniques and assessing whether participants can perform tasks safely and competently.
