Senior Solution Engineer - Perth

You'll be the technical lead on our most complex customer opportunities; engaging technical decision makers, shaping sales strategy with the account team, and using deep technical and industry knowledge to act as a trusted advisor.

You'll lead complex technical wins across workloads, teams and geographies, scale them through our partner ecosystem, and turn competitive insight into strategy that shapes how we go to market.

You'll also be a visible technical voice; leading communities, mentoring peers, and feeding customer and competitive intelligence back to our product and engineering teams.

Customer engagement and technical wins

• Engage key technical decision makers and influencers, helping shape sales strategy with the account team.
• Act as a trusted advisor, consulting on customers' technical and security needs.
• Lead complex technical wins across workloads and geographies, coaching technical sellers and account teams.
• Engage product and engineering teams to remove escalated blockers and anticipate future ones.

Solution design and proof

• Adapt architecture patterns to complex customer requirements, delivering reusable assets for the wider business.
• Lead architectural design sessions, proofs of concept, pilots and hackathons, positioning our solutions against competitors.
• Apply advanced sales methodologies to guide customers through digital transformation, with a consistent focus on security.

Strategy and competitive insight

• Build competitive knowledge and document compete patterns to drive competitive selling strategies.
• Develop cross-workload and account-level responses to market threats, feeding trends back to the business group.
• Work with account and marketing teams to shape win and customer success plans tailored to local markets.

Partner ecosystem

• Scale wins through partners in sell-with engagements, building deep partner relationships.
• Support partner technical capacity and identify new partnership opportunities that build subsidiary strategy.

Technical community

• Act as a technical thought leader, sharing architectures and best practice and delivering content at Microsoft events.
• Lead technical communities through community calls, sessions and hackathons, and mentor others within them.
• Build readiness plans for peers, identifying capability gaps and learning opportunities.

Minimum experience

• 8+ years in technical pre-sales, technical consulting or technology delivery or equivalent experience.
• Azure experience gained across a broad range of enterprise customers and environments.
• Demonstrable AI experience, with the ability to hold credible conversations on how AI and automation drive modernisation outcomes.
• Experience leading migration and modernisation engagements, connecting technical approach to business impact.
• Consultative selling and technical communication skills, adapting how you explain technology to suit the audience.

Preferred experience

• Technical pre-sales, technical consulting or technology delivery, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in cloud, hybrid or on-premises infrastructure, architecture design, migrations and technology management.
• Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Developer Associate, or equivalent credentials in Information Security or Power BI.
• Experience mapping solutions to customer modernisation and digital transformation plans at enterprise scale.
