Site Manager - BESS Project

 About the Project/Role

The Yanco BESS is a major 250MW / 1,000MWh battery energy storage project in regional New South Wales. As the Balance of Plant contractor, ACLE is helping deliver critical infrastructure that will enhance grid reliability and support the integration of renewable energy into the national electricity network.

Based at our Yanco site, We are seeking an experienced and driven Site Manager to join our Project Delivery team and play a key role in the successful delivery of utility-scale renewable energy projects. This position is ideal for a hands-on construction leader with strong renewable energy experience and a passion for safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day construction activities to deliver works safely, on schedule, to specification and within budget.

• Manage site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and key construction interfaces to ensure efficient project execution.  

• Plan and coordinate labour, plant, equipment and materials to maximise productivity an achieve project milestones.

• Monitor workforce requirements, coordinate rosters and manage mobilisation activities to support project delivery demands.

• Review and approve timesheets, overtime, allowances and workforce records to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure works are delivered in accordance with contractual obligations, specifications and project requirements.  

• Participate in site progress meetings and contribute to daily, weekly and milestone reporting.

• Take a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks, constraints and issues o support successful project delivery

 About You

• Strong onsite construction experience, including site leadership responsibilities.

• Relevant trade qualification with strong construction experience or Degree qualification in Civil/Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Experience within renewable energy, EPC, infrastructure or major construction.

• Solar PV and/or BESS experience is highly desirable but not essential.

• Proven experience managing subcontractors and site-based workforces.

• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.

• Construction White Card and Level 2 First Aid certification.
