Senior Medical Receptionist – General Practice

One Point Medical is seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Medical Receptionist to join our friendly and professional team in Prahran.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced medical receptionist who enjoys taking ownership of their role, supporting a busy clinical team and helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of reception.

We are looking for someone who is confident, warm and professional, with strong general practice experience and the ability to work independently while remaining part of a supportive team.

About the role

Working closely with the Practice Manager, doctors, nursing and reception team, you will play an important role in the day-to-day coordination of reception and patient services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing a welcoming and professional experience for patients
• Managing telephone, online and in-person enquiries
• Appointment scheduling and diary management
• Medicare and private billing
• Processing payments and managing patient accounts
• Managing correspondence, referrals and incoming documentation
• Assisting with recalls, reminders and results processes
• Supporting the smooth day-to-day workflow of reception
• Assisting and supporting other reception team members
• Liaising with doctors, nursing staff and the Practice Manager
• Identifying and resolving reception and administrative issues as they arise
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and accurate records
• Contributing to ongoing improvements in practice systems and processes

About you

We are particularly interested in hearing from someone who has:

• Previous experience working in medical reception, ideally within General Practice
• Experience using Best Practice software
• Strong knowledge of Medicare billing and general practice processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A calm, organised approach in a busy environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Confidence dealing with sensitive or complex patient enquiries
• The ability to prioritise and problem-solve independently
• A collaborative approach and willingness to support the wider team
• A genuine commitment to providing excellent patient service

One Point Medical is a private general practice located in Prahran. We provide comprehensive general practice care with a significant focus on ADHD assessment and ongoing ADHD care.

Our team includes experienced GPs, nursing, reception and administrative staff, and we also support medical student education and training.

Hours

Full-time or part-time, 4–5 days per week.
