Activities Officer

St Mary's currently has shifts available for a Lifestyle Therapist/Activities Officer to assist in entertaining our Residents.

Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents? We're seeking compassionate, creative and energetic Activities Officer to join our team - with a special focus on residents living with dementia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning and facilitating daily lifestyle and recreational activities
• Encourage social interaction and emotional wellbeing through music, art, reminiscence therapy, sensory activities, and more
• Maintain accurate documentation
• This position would suit anyone that has a great rapport with the elderly and doesn't mind being a little silly.
• Assisting residents to the toilet, assisting with feeding and meal times and working with residents in our secure dementia wings.
• Training and education will be provided to the right applicants, particularly relating to activities with residents that have dementia.
• Teamwork is such an important part of working at St Mary's, everyday staff do their best to support each other in achieving high quality care for every Resident.
• Cert IV in Leisure & Health recommended.

Shifts times will vary from: 08.00-16.00, 09.00-17.00, 08.00-16.30 but will be a set roster. Occasional weekend work will be required and odd shifts for special events. We are looking for a new person to join our team, working 5-6 shifts per fortnight plus relief.
