FMS Group is currently seeking an experienced Excavator & Drill Fitters to join our Diesel Division in the Bowen Basin. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking to join a professional and supportive team within a growing organisation.

The Opportunity

Working as part of our experienced maintenance team, you will be responsible for the diagnosis, maintenance and repair of heavy mobile mining equipment, ensuring machinery is maintained to a high standard and operates safely and efficiently.

Preferred fleet experience includes:

• Liebherr 9800 Excavators
• Hitachi 5600-7 Excavators
• Sandvik DR412i Drills

What We're Looking For

• Trade-qualified Diesel Fitter / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
• Previous experience working on heavy mobile mining equipment
• Proven diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• A proactive approach to safety
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Strong commitment to delivering quality workmanship and service

The successful applicant, will have:

• Relevant Trade Qualification
• Liebherr/Hitachi Excavator or Sandvik Drill experience essential
• Experience working in a mining environment
• Coal Board Medical
• Standard 11 Statement of Attainment
• Current Drivers Licence                                                
• Problem solving and decision-making skills
• Great communication and interpersonal skills
• Have the proven ability to liaise with both management and clients
• Uncompromising attitude to safety
• Ability to meet site requirements
