Labourer

Sunshine Sugar's Harwood site is looking for general labourer to join our day gang team. This fixed term opportunity is available until December 2026, with the potential for extension or ongoing employment for the right candidate.

Working hours: 7am - 3:30pm Monday to Friday, with some weekend cover required during crushing season (June - December) paid as overtime. 

About the role

As a general labourer, you'll be responsible for a variety of physical tasks to support site operations. Duties could include:

• Performing production and operational site duties

• Operating vehicles and equipment

• Cleaning and maintaining work areas

• Assisting trades

• Use power tools

We are looking for:

• Mechanical aptitude and practical problem solving skills

• Clear and constructive communicator both verbally and in writing

• Safety conscious with a positive attitude

• Team orientated and willing to share knowledge

• Proactive self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision

• Sufficient physical fitness, sight and hearing

• Ability to work in an environment with frequent exposure to noisy, wet, greasy and/or humid conditions, as well as heights

• Production experience an advantage but not essential

Desirable licences / tickets (NOT essential) include:

• Dogging / Rigging / Scaffolding

• Confined Space (current within 2 years)

• Non-Slewing Mobile Crane capacity >3T

• Excavator

• Front end / Wheeled / Skid Steer Loader Tickets
