Senior DevOps - Digital Portfolio Systems and Delivery

• Clerk Grade 9/10, base salary ($133,348- $146,945), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

 

Your role

 

Lead the creation of large or complex cloud-based software applications that facilitate the achievement of business outcomes through the use of process and technology.

 

What you’ll do

 

• Design, build, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation, ensuring consistent, reliable, and repeatable deployments.
• Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines that enable frequent, high-quality releases while improving deployment speed, stability, and efficiency.
• Create automation solutions using Python, Bash, and other scripting tools to streamline build, testing, and deployment processes, reducing manual effort and increasing reliability.
• Champion DevSecOps practices by embedding security, compliance, patch management, and identity and access controls throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative technology solutions, balancing competing priorities while supporting a diverse portfolio of applications and stakeholders.
• Thrive in a supportive, high-performing team culture that values individuality, continuous learning, shared success, and hands-on experience with modern technologies and delivery practices.

 

What we’re looking for

 

• Cloud & Infrastructure Expertise – Experience managing and supporting AWS cloud platforms across multiple accounts and environments, ensuring secure, reliable, highly available, and cost-effective infrastructure for business-critical applications.
• DevOps & Automation Skills – Strong capability in designing, implementing, and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD solutions using technologies such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Bamboo, Bitbucket, AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy to enable efficient and automated software delivery.
• System Administration & Security – Ability to administer and optimise Linux-based systems, container platforms, and serverless solutions, including Docker, AWS Lambda, and related cloud-native services, ensuring operational excellence and platform stability.  Ability to Drive security, automation, and engineering best practices by leveraging strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routing, DNS, load balancing), implementing security controls such as WAF, IDS/IPS, and DDoS protection, and developing automation solutions using Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.
• Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement – Ability to provide expert operational support for production environments, including monitoring, incident management, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, upgrades, performance tuning, vulnerability remediation, and continuous service improvement.
• Collaboration & Communication – Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work effectively across teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver successful outcomes.
