Camp Cook & Cleaner – 7/7 FIFO Roster

About the Role

Gulkula Mining is seeking a reliable and self-motivated Camp Cook & Cleaner to join our remote mining camp, located approximately 30 kilometres from Nhulunbuy. This is a fixed-term, 3-month contract position.

This fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) role operates on a seven-days-on, seven-days-off roster, with flights provided from either Cairns or Darwin to Gove (Nhulunbuy).

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing meals and maintaining cleanliness across the camp. As much of the work is carried out independently, strong organisational skills and a proactive approach are important.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious lunches for 20+ people each day

• Prepare nutritious dinners for approximately 10–15 people each evening

• Manage food storage, stock rotation and kitchen supplies

• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness

• Clean and maintain camp common areas, laundry facilities, vacant accommodation rooms, mine crib rooms, the gym and offices

• Drive a company 4WD utility approximately 30 kilometres to Nhulunbuy to collect groceries and supplies

About You

• Previous experience preparing meals for groups

• Ability to prepare varied, nutritious and well-presented meals

• Good understanding of food handling, storage and hygiene requirements

• Strong planning, time-management and stock-control skills

• Ability to work calmly, safely and independently

• Current Australian driver's licence, with confidence driving a 4WD vehicle

• Physical capacity for cleaning, laundry and manual-handling duties

• Ability to pass pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol screening

Previous experience in a remote or mining camp environment is desirable but not essential.

Roster, Travel and Accommodation

• Seven days on, seven days off

• Flights provided between Cairns or Darwin to Gove

• Private accommodation in a donga-style room with a king-single bed and ensuite

• The camp is alcohol-free, and alcohol is not permitted on site
