Wise Disability Support Services
Wise Disability Support Services is a values-driven organisation committed to providing high-quality, personalised support to individuals across the community. Wise focuses on young people with a disability as our core business however Wise is not limited to young people. We are currently seeking enthusiastic, compassionate, and dedicated Support Workers to join our growing team.
As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in empowering our clients to achieve their personal goals, enhance their daily living skills, and actively participating in their communities.
Domestic Support: Assisting with light household tasks, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
Community Participation: Supporting clients to engage in social activities, appointments, hobbies, and educational or employment opportunities outside the home.
Skill Development: Implementing personalized support plans focused on building independence, social skills, life skills, and confidence.
Health and Well-being: Monitoring and reporting on clients' physical and emotional well-being, including administering medication as required (with appropriate training).
Documentation: Maintaining accurate, professional, and timely records of support provided and any incidents/observations.
Essential:
Demonstrated commitment to the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, showing initiative and flexibility.
Current First Aid and CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain).
Current Driver's License and reliable, registered and insured vehicle.
Successful completion of a NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
Desirable (but not essential):
Qualifications in Individual Support, Disability, Youth Work or similar field.
Previous experience working in the disability sector is a bonus however not critical as we will train you.
