About the Opportunity

OVAHS has an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Specialist Support Coordinator to join our team in Kununurra, WA on a full-time basis.

Are you a dedicated professional with experience in disability support, complex case management, or community services? This is your opportunity to play a key role in empowering Aboriginal people across the North-East Kimberley region to achieve their NDIS goals and access the services they need to thrive.

As the Specialist Support Coordinator, you will design, implement, and monitor complex service plans across health, justice, housing, and disability sectors. You’ll be instrumental in building participants’ capacity to self-manage supports, promoting independence and choice, and ensuring the delivery of culturally safe and person-centred care. The role focuses on reducing barriers to care, managing crises, and building each participant’s long-term capacity to lead and self-direct their own support network.

You will also foster strong networks across the disability and health sectors to ensure participants are connected with appropriate, quality supports that reflect their individual needs and goals.

About You

You are a compassionate and capable professional with experience in disability support, intensive case management, or related areas. You hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health, Nursing, or a related discipline, and are committed to empowering individuals through culturally safe and inclusive practices. To be successful in this role you will have a minimum of 2–3 years’ experience managing complex cases within high-intensity community, disability, or health services.

You bring:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Proven ability to coordinate services and navigate complex support systems;
• Strong understanding of the NDIS, person-centred practice, and community-based service delivery;
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote Aboriginal health context.

Experience working in Aboriginal communities and/or within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation will be highly regarded.

You’ll be based in Kununurra, a beautiful and remote part of Australia, and must be resilient, adaptable, and committed to building trust with the local community.

• Base Wage: $109,302.44 – $126,282.21 (dependent on qualifications and experience) per annum pro rata + Super
• 5 weeks annual leave per year
• Additional paid leave over the end of year closure period, as per leave policy
• Annual flight allowance of $1,800 after 12 months of continued service pro rata
• Accommodation allowance of $6,240 per annum pro rata
• Sociable hours (Mon-Fri office hours)
